remembering Shohaku

in the twilight
as stars twinkle bright and clear
Honeysuckle perfume                      (Chèvrefeuille)

where the waters flow afar
the village glows with sweet plum flowers
(Shohaku)

here is my attempt to heighten Shohaku’s tan renga :

to the mountain streams
new plum blossoms , deflowered-
careless wind of spring .
(milan rajkumar)

where the waters flow afar
the village glows with sweet plum flowers
(Shohaku)

I like the idea of the winds deflowering or denuding the trees – and blowing the blossoms away – to be carried in waters …. lovely imagery in my mind 🙂 and a very interesting image – I like the way the water – river- stream? is broken – and the way sunlight strikes the distant mountain, bathing it golden – makes me think of pollen …
