promising artist
she could hear the claps and cheers
cold and bare king’s hall…

she leaves her village
with no food in her stomach
a rare childhood dream

she works like a slave
homeless diva in disguise
careless passers by

her melody spreads
from one town to another
tears on hollow cheeks

the king summons her
the songstress smiles a little
mesmerized blank ears

for ,

childhood dreams and plans
purpose fulfilled ,the last breath
soft palm shut the eyes

no more repentance
a satisfied soul ‘s journey
the shroud is ready

near and dear ones mourn
kindly light in the darkness
last rite ,back to soil .
